WASHINGTON, D.C. -- An intensifying storm just off the coast of New England continues to bring snow to parts of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York and Vermont.
The coastal areas, particularly along Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New York, are receiving the greatest accumulations of snow. A foot or more could fall by this evening as the system tracks slowly up to the northeast. Winds as high as 45 mph have been reported at several locations on Cape Cod.
A second low-pressure system, currently centered over Maryland and Virginia, is expected to move offshore later today and increase the intensity of the Nor'Easter in New England.
The storm is expected to leave the area later Friday afternoon and milder weather is expected for the weekend.
