WASHINGTON, D.C -- The Fairfax County, Va. Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Task Force is sending a disaster assessment team to Colombia, South America. The four-member team will gather information and report to the State Department's Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA).

Metro Dade, Fla. US&R Task Force One already has a 64-member team in Colombia assisting with the search for victims.

Virginia and Florida task force members have also been sent to Washington, DC. They are helping man the State Department's Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) disaster desk on a 24-hour basis in support of the recovery efforts in Colombia.
