WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The State Department's Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance dispatched an Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) team to Colombia, South America yesterday. The 64-member team from Dade County, Fla. will assist local officials in the search for earthquake victims.

The Metro Dade US&R Task Force One will join earthquake experts from Japan and Mexico in the international disaster relief effort. The State Department's Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance is coordinating U.S. support to Colombia.
