KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- State and federal officials will open a joint Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas on Thursday, November 19. The DRC is located at:

The DRC will be open to assist applicants from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, until further notice.
The purpose of the DRC is to provide assistance and information to Kansans who have experienced damages and losses from the storms and flooding. Representatives of state, federal and voluntary agencies will be present. The disaster programs available include temporary housing, home and business loans, individual and family grants, disaster unemployment assistance, and other aid programs.
Homeowners, renters, farmers, agricultural producers, and business owners who sustained damage as a result of the severe storms and flooding between October 30 and November 15 should register with FEMA for disaster assistance.
It takes about 15 minutes to register by phone at: 1-800-462-9029. TTY service is available at 1-800-462-7585 for anyone who is hearing or speech impaired. The registration numbers are available from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (CST), Monday through Friday.
