SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Individuals who have applied for disaster assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and have questions about their application may now call the FEMA Helpline (1-800-525-0321, or TTY 1-800-660-8005) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week.
"We are urging individuals with questions concerning their teleregistration application to call the Helpline now," said Federal Coordinating Officer Robert E. Hendrix. "The Helpline puts disaster recovery information just a phone-call away for individuals affected by the recent storms."
Helpline operators are available to assist callers with the following:
- Status of disaster assistance application
- Change of applicant's address or other application information
- Disaster Recovery Center locations and referrals to other agencies that may provide assistance
The Helpline is intended to compliment the toll-free teleregistration for disaster recovery assistance and the Disaster Recovery Centers that have been established throughout the disaster area.
Individuals who experienced losses from the storms and have not yet applied for assistance should first call the toll-free teleregistration number at 1-800-462-9029 (TTY: 1-800-462-7585).
