EPA Team Removing HAZMAT From American Samoa

Tafuna, American Samoa, January 7, 2010 -- An EPA team returned to the island of Tutuila, AS, to remove hazardous materials collected in the aftermath of the September 29, 2009, tsunami and also to complete a Superfund project that pre-dated the disaster. The HAZMAT has been stored by the American Samoa Public Works Department. It will be safely disposed at sites in Hawaii and on the Mainland.
