A year after katrina we installed the generator, when we had power failure before we almost had to shut down because everything runs on electricity I mean you can't physically run the store without power.

it really helped you know it helped the community they had a place to shop and it really helped us ut because we didn't lose maybe one hundred thousand dollars of perishable in merchandise that we have in the store. When we lose power within probably ten seconds we are back on generator is almost instantaneously.

Runs on diesel burns about 300 gallons a day and we have the capacity to run for about ten days on what we have here.

The cost of the generator is approximately one hundred and thirty thousand to put in, I really recommend this to anybody and to put in a generator that runs your store, you know if you are going to service the community that is what your business is you really need to stay open and you know specially during a crisis

After katrina we also decided we wanted to be able to put up plywood in the front of the building easily, we can come with a whole sheet four by eight sheet of plywood stand it up in here slide it across and it closes the windows within, probably within half hour we can close all the windows in the front of the store. it's very very inexpensive and very easy to do and its lifetime, you know you never have to replace it.
