Disasters can strike at any time, and the thing I've learned is that we've got to work as a team. Hi, I'm Craig Fugate, the Administrator for the Federal Emergency Management Agency. We look at government's response to disasters, local, state and federal, and we look at the private sector and volunteers. But who we really need to bring on the team is you. The public is one of our key resources. When we look at disasters, the more we do to prepare ourselves and our family, the more the team can focus on our must vunerable citizens. When you look at the challenges we face everyday in making sure that we're ready for the next disaster, you are the most important part of the team....getting prepared....getting a plan...getting training. And if disaster strikes, making sure once you and your family is OK, check on a neighbor. Join the team, become a part of the emergency management team. We don't know when the next disaster will strike. The more prepared we are, the better we'll all do.
