Hi, I’m Craig Fugate, the Administrator of FEMA. Each New Year, we make resolutions about things we want to do differently. We want to lose weight, quit smoking, be better people. I’ve got another challenge for you: let’s resolve to be ready in 2012. As we saw in the 2011 season tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, fires, drought, winter storms. You name it, it happened. And we know that the better prepared we are, the better for ourselves and our families when disaster strikes. So this year resolve to be ready in 2012. And start with the most basic steps. Think about what you would do and how you would communicate with your family if disaster struck. You can go to ready.gov to get started today on your family communication plan and start taking the steps to be ready in 2012. Again, a lot of resolutions don’t get kept, but keep this one. If you do nothing else just bookmark ready.gov and come back to it when you get a chance. But think about what you would do and what your family would need to do before disaster strikes. Thank you.
