My name is Don Lumpkins and I am the Chief of Planning for the National Preparedness Directorate here at FEMA. I just wanted to let you know about the comprehensive preparedness guide 101, developing and maintaining plans for state, territorial, tribal and local officials. We are very excited about CPG 101, it is a significant update from our guidance in 1996 and it addresses the way the world has changed in the past many years given the many disasters, natural, technological and human caused. CPG addresses all sorts of related issues on how we do planning on the state and local level providing guidance on generating requirements, developing plans not only to work with our partners at the state and local level but also the federal government and providing a consistent planning process that we can all use to improve planning efforts across the board. CPG 101 is the beginning of an effort; it is part of a series of planning guidance and preparedness documents that will deal with a variety of issues, everything from developing hazard specific plans to addressing the design and management of emergency operation centers. Over the next several months additional information will be out about each of these CPG's as they develop. In order to find out more information about the CPG effort and what we are doing as it relates to state and local planning, please check the FEMA website, FEMA.gov, keyword CPG. Thank you.
