Hi, I'm Tom Trace with FEMA. This is an Indiana Disaster Update for May 21, 2009. A mobile Disaster Recovery Center will open in Bedford on Tuesday, May 26. The center will be open for three days, and close on Thursday, May 28. It will be located at Crossroads Community Church, 5000 State Road 37N. Tuesday hours will be noon to seven. Wednesday and Thursday, 9 to 7. The recovery center will give applicants for disaster assistance a chance to meet face-to-face with recovery specialists from numerous agencies including FEMA, Indiana Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Small Business administration. Homeowners, renters and businesses affected by the severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding that occurred in Indiana from March 8 - 14, should register for federal disaster assistance by calling 1-800-621-FEMA.
