Opening Titles: February 1st, 2010 - Nua, American Samoa Volunteers help rebuild after September???s devastating tsunami. Transcript: Donald Horst - Mennonite Disaster Services: We're in American Samoa working on homes that were destroyed by the tsunami that happened last September, and this particular house had quite a bit of water come through and everything was washed out, and we're trying to help them get their lives back to normal again as best we can. It takes a lot of work to do that, tearing out things, repairing walls, repairing floors, cabinets - if you can imagine a ten foot wall of water coming through your house, that???s what happened here. One of the things that we did was we completely rebuilt one of the small bathrooms by putting a new shower in, doing all the tile work, vanity, tile floor, and in the kitchen, the kitchen cabinet was washed out and was rotted pretty bad by termites due to all the moisture that we have here, so we built a concrete kitchen cupboard and tiled it. It looks quite nice, and it should last forever. The people have been very, very receptive to us and we have a lot of fun working with them. We feel that we have so much at home, and it gives us a chance to share our love for God and for these people. They need help, and we are available to do that, so we donate our time, and thanks to FEMA for providing the transportation costs to get us here, and then our time here is simply put into help the people the best way we can to get their lives back into as much of a normal circumstance as what they can after a disaster like they've had.
