We’re going to be shooting out, and we are going to be working with home repairs. Team Rubicon is a disaster relief, humanitarian response organization that was started by two Marines. The initial response for domestic operations started with the Tuscaloosa Tornadoes. That was out initial domestic response, prior to that we were only working international. By the 11th on November we will have over a thousand veteran volunteers who are in the field. We’re finding a lot of problems, obviously with the water levels that have rose a lot and a lot of stuff is soaked . We have the drywall is saturated, we’re getting that out now, moving furniture and debris out of driveways, taking trees out of kitchens, just helping them clean up so they can get back to as normal a life as they can right now. There are Americans in trouble, we’re here to help them. This is probably one of the best things I’ve done in my life. So far most of what we doing is a lot of removal of objects from basements you know couches bed, something along those lines, a lot of dirt removal. Just our presence being here is helping them emotionally, you know, a lot of them have lost everything. One of the things I heard last night was, Thank God Team Rubicon is here. You can see how much it means that we are here and helping out. We were exhausted doing this the first few days by ourselves then they just showed up and, we just couldn’t live without them. they’re, like my mother-in-law called them “Angels when we needed them.” Team Rubicon gave me the chance to utilize those military skills. in disaster response and recovery efforts both here and around the world. The efforts that they are bringing and the cooperation they are bringing with the other national organizations, from national VOAD, are going to make a huge difference to the people who survived disasters. Hey sir, how you doing today? Stay warm. You can see it in their eyes how much it means that we are out here helping. It helps us as much as it helps them.
