Hi, I'm Craig Fugate, Administrator of FEMA. September is National Preparedness Month. I've got a request. We talk about disasters all the time but one of the things we know is the better prepared the public is, the better the response will be. Well guess what? You're the public. Take what you need to do to get ready and make sure you have a family disaster plan. Make sure your family knows what the communication plan is in case disaster strikes. And remember, we don't always know when the next disaster will strike, even what the next disaster may be. By taking the most important step of making sure you and your family have a disaster plan, you've helped the team be better prepared. Again, it's National Preparedness Month. Have you gotten your plan? Make sure. If you need more information, go to Ready.gov. Helping you putting together your plan so that you and your family are better-prepared before disaster strikes.
