NEW FEMA Building Certified "GREEN"

FEMA Administrator David Paulison leads a group of officials at a ribbon cutting ceremony and dedicaton at a new FEMA facility that will house the agency's Disaster Operations Center. The structure is the first commercial building in Frederick County that has been certified FEMA is preparing to move its disaster operations staff from the Mt. Weather Emergency Operations Center and other locations in the area to a new building in Winchester, Va. The structure is the first commercial building in Frederick County to be certified "green" by the U.S. Green Building Council, which developed the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green rating system for high-performance, sustainable buildings.
