Director Paulison testified before the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security on March 9. He discussed the past, present and future of FEMA and how the FY08 proposed budget will give FEMA the tools to build a better, stronger, more nimble organization.
Director Paulison’s testimony included discussion about the reforms FEMA has already implemented over the past year in the areas of communications, continuity programs, logistics and financial management that helped reduce waste, fraud and abuse. He noted the stronger response this New FEMA has had during recent tornados across the southeast and our improved coordination with FEMA’s partners at the tribal, state and local level.
