FEMA Says "SPRING AHEAD" and get Ready for Disasters

FEMA encourages Americans to use the change to daylight savings time this weekend as a reminder to implement emergency preparedness measures to address all hazards including fire safety precautions that will keep you and your family safe at home. For years, fire departments around the country have worked to remind citizens in their communities as they move their clocks ahead to also change those smoke alarm batteries throughout their house.

The change to daylight saving is this Sunday, March 11 at 2:00 a.m. three weeks earlier than in the past.
