Washington, DC – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is continuing its aggressive outreach to encourage all Hurricane Katrina and Rita evacuees still living in hotels and motels paid for by FEMA to obtain an authorization code by the January 30,2006 deadline. Additional FEMA operators will be available over the final weekend before the deadline, and lines will continue to be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
