Personnel / Response Updates

  • The U.S. Coast Guard conducted two assessment flights over Boston.

  • In the U.S. Virgin Islands, joint territorial-federal Preliminary Damage Assessments for Hurricane Earl began Friday, September 3.

  • Incident Management Assistance Teams (IMAT) (PDF, Text) have all been demobilized except for two. The Region 4 IMAT team will return to duty to support the North Carolina Preliminary Damage Assessments and the U.S. Virgin Islands IMAT team will continue to support Preliminary Damage Assessments.

  • Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Incident Support Teams (PDF, Text) have all stood down.

  • As of September 3, FEMA is demobilizing the Incident Support Base in North Carolina, and as of September 4, FEMA is in the process of demobilizing the Incident Support Base in Massachusetts.
