Portland, Ore., July 19, 2014 – As part of their 30 mile course, “open” and “E-Assist” class riders must dump 5 gallons of transported water to create a shallow water crossing that they must cross at the end of their supply run. Pools of displaced water is one of the anticipated challenges riders would face in a real earthquake scenario.
