Sharing preparedness at cycling event

Seattle, Wash., June 21, 2013 -- A FEMA employee shares emergency preparedness information with a cyclist. The event, called the Seattle Disaster Relief Trials, focused on how bicycles can be used for emergency preparedness in responding to potential disaster scenarios. Cyclists rode through a 10 mile course with checkpoints along the way that focused on skill building activities and challenges - such as collecting first aid supplies & learning first aid basics, collecting and transporting food, water and sandbags, completing communication preparedness activities and moving their bikes and gear over road barriers.
