Clinton, Miss., May 23, 2011 -- This is a meeting of the Sheltering Taskforce, held at FEMA'S Joint Field Office in Clinton Mississippi and headed by Mark Smith, Deputy Director for the Department of Human Services for the State of Mississippi with membership from the Red Cross, and other voluntary agencies, other Mississippi departments and support from FEMA ESF -6 and LesleyAnne Ezelle, FEMA Region 10 Disability Integration Specialist. The role of the taskforce is to plan for the sheltering needs of the whole community, utilizing community expertise to ensure that access and functional needs of people with and without disabilities are met.  FEMA collaborates with other Federal, state, local and voluntary agencies to integrate and coordinate emergency management efforts to meet the access and functional needs of all citizens, including children and adults with disabilities.
