Oklahoma City, Okla., May 24, 2010 -- Oklahoma Office of Emergency Management Public Assistance Director Kathleen Shingledecker (standing) briefs city and county agency officials on the Preliminary Damage Assessment process that will determine the extent of damages caused to their respective areas by tornadoes that swept the area on May 10. The gathered information will be used to determine if a request for a Federal Public Assistance declaration for damages caused to public infrastructure by 22 confirmed tornadoes is warranted.
