Activity 430 - Protecting Building Utilities and Ductwork from Flood Damage

Main Content
Under the National Flood Insurance Program’s Community Rating System, communities can receive CRS credit points for requiring a building’s utility systems (such as electrical, heating, ventilation, plumbing, and air conditioning equipment, including ductwork) to be elevated or waterproofed to a level above the base flood elevation. This document shows four scenarios of possible scoring for element FRB (freeboard) under Activity 430 of the CRS.
