Earthquake Hazard Mitigation for Utility Lifeline Systems
The purpose of this course is to provide the participants with information on procedures for earthquake hazard identification and quantification; systems risk evaluation and mitigation; structural, nonstructural, and equipment risk evaluation and mitigation; and emergency response and immediate recovery planning. A goal would be to show the participants that they or their management can develop and implement cost-effective earthquake hazard mitigation programs. This course is designed for, and directed to, public works engineers and officials in local agencies and utilities who have the responsibility for initiating and implementing earthquake hazard preparation, mitigation, and recovery programs.
