FEMA USFA NFIRS 2000 Fire Incident & Cause Data
The 2000 Fire Causes & Incident data was provided by the U.S. Fire Administration’s (USFA) National Fire Data Center’s (NFDC’s) National Fire Incident Reporting System. NFIRS is a voluntary tool that fire departments use both to report fires and other incidents to which fire departments respond and to maintain records of these incidents in a uniform manner. NFIRS has two objectives to help State and local governments develop fire reporting and analysis capability for their own use, and to obtain data that can be used to more accurately assess and subsequently combat the fire problem at a national level. Also provided are a host of documents to help understand the data including the NFIRS 5.0 Fire Data Analysis Guidelines and Issues.
