The Seneca Nation of Indians has applied for funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Homeland Security Grant Program (HSPG), to construct a new Interoperable Radio System throughout the reservation in Cattaraugus County, NY. The purpose of the HSPG is to support increased capabilities to prevent, detect, respond to, and recover from terrorist attacks and other emergencies. FEMA has been responsible for the preparation of an Environmental Assessment to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of the proposed project in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and FEMA's implementing regulations at 44 CFR Part 10.
