Programmatic Environmental Assessment for Hazard Mitigation Safe Room Construction (April 2011)

FEMA has prepared a Programmatic Environmental Assessment (PEA) to address the potential impacts to the human environment resulting from the installation and construction of safe rooms funded under its Pre-Disaster Mitigation Grant Program and Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. The purpose of the PEA is to facilitate FEMA’s compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and FEMA’s regulations for implementing NEPA at 44 CFR Part 10.
