Public Notice for Draft Environmental Assessments for Mississippi Wireless Integrated Network project (May 2010)

Main Content
Following Hurricane Katrina, Congress appropriated funds for a grant to the State of Mississippi for an interoperable communications system. The funds are being administered by FEMA under the Mississippi Interoperable Communications Grant Program and proposed to be used for the construction of several communications towers across the state. The proposed telecommunications sites would be part of the Mississippi Wireless Integrated Network (MSWIN) project, which is intended to provide and enhance interoperable communications uses for a wide variety of government, public safety, and first-responder users. Interested parties are hereby invited to comment between May 28 and June 12, 2010.
