Southern Ute Indian Tribe Letter of Support to Amend Stafford Act

Southern Ute Indian Tribe Chairman, Jimmy R. Newton Jr. sent to Honorable Senators Bennet and Udall a letter of support to Senate Bill 2283.  The bill amends the Stafford Act to allow Tribes to choose whether to directly request a separate declaration or to receive assistance, as they do presently, under a declaration for a State.
