What is Risk MAP?: A Two-Page Flyer
This two-page flyer offers an overview of the Risk MAP program. This overview includes the Risk Map Vision, Multi-Year Plan, differences between Map Mod and Risk MAP, and a summary of each piece of the Risk MAP Solution. That includes watershed and scheduling approaches, elevation data acquisition, engineering and mapping, risk assessment, mitigation planning, and risk communications. The vision for Risk MAP is to deliver precise and accurate data that increases public awareness and leads to action that reduces risk to life and property. The multi-year plan was approved by Congress on March 16, 2009. This plan provides details on how Risk MAP is building on the successes of Map Mod and includes the goals and objectives for the five year effort. Questions regarding the plan should be directed to FEMA-RiskMaps@dhs.gov.
