FEMA is proposing to provide funding assistance under its Public Assistance Program to replace and consolidate Greensburg’s kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high schools into one centralized location. The schools were damaged during a devastating tornado that struck the city on May 4, 2007. In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and FEMA’s regulations at 44 CFR Part 10 for implementing NEPA, an environmental assessment has been prepared to evaluate the potential impacts of the proposed project on the human environment.
