Environmental Assessment, Fagatogo Stormwater Modification, American Samoa Disaster Relief Office (March 2008)

The American Samoa Disaster Relief Office has applied to FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (presidential disaster declaration FEMA-1506-DR-AS for Cyclone Heta, 2004) for funding to conduct a flood control project in the village of Fagatogo. In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA), the Council on Environmental Quality regulations implementing NEPA (Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations Parts 1500–1508), and FEMA’s implementing regulations (44 CFR Part 10), FEMA has prepared an Environmental Assessment to evaluate the impacts of the proposed project on the human and natural environment.
