The HAZUS-MH map series templates serve many purposes. HAZUS User Groups (HUGs) can use the maps for public awareness and outreach. Emergency managers and decision makers can use the maps to show the application of HAZUS-MH to support rapid impact assessment and disaster response for earthquake, hurricane and flood emergencies. Some of the potential uses for this map include: Estimating requirements for Preliminary Damage Assessment (PDA) teams, housing inspectors; Identifying potential requirements for food, ice; Identifying potential requirements for temporary roofing repairs (blue plastic sheeting); Using estimates of residential building damage (severe and destruction) to identify upper range of temporary housing/other IA requirements; Using estimates in conjunction with aerial imagery to identify parameters of housing damage; or, Initialing scaling of requirements for insurance adjustor teams to be deployed to field.
