City of Emory/Rains County Tornado Shelter Project, Texas (November 2007)
Rains County has applied for funding under FEMA’s Pre-Disaster Mitigation Program to construct a safe room/tornado shelter in the City of Emory to provide shelter during severe weather events to the citizens of the City of Emory and Rains County. In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, FEMA has prepared an Environmental Assessment to evaluate the impacts of the proposed project on the human and natural environment.
