Farm Shop Storage Building Project, California Polytechnic State University (July 2007)
The California Polytechnic State University has applied for funding under FEMA’s Public Assistance program for the repair and relocation of its farm shop
storage building, which was damaged during the San Simeon Earthquake on
December 22, 2003 (Presidential disaster declaration FEMA-DR-1505-CA).
FEMA must consider the impacts of the proposed project on the human and natural environment prior to making a funding decision. FEMA has prepared a Final Programmatic Environmental Assessment for Typical Recurring Actions Resulting from Flood, Earthquake, Fire, Rain, and Wind Disasters in California (PEA). However, for the specific actions of this particular project, some resources are not fully assessed in the PEA. Therefore, in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and FEMA’s implementing regulation, this Supplemental Environmental Assessment has been prepared to tier from the PEA.
