Emergency Communications Tower Project, East Regional Emergency Operations Center, Knoxville, Tennessee (June 2007)

The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency applied for funding under DHS’ Homeland Security Grant Program to build an emergency communications tower at its East Regional Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in Knoxville, Tennessee. The purpose of the project is to improve state emergency communications in Knox County and 37 other eastern Tennessee counties. In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), DHS and FEMA have prepared an Environmental Assessment to assess the potential environmental and historic preservation impacts of the proposed project.
