Environmental Assessment for Waterworks District #7 Alternative Project, Cameron Parish, Louisiana (September 2011)
Cameron Parish Waterworks District #7 was damaged as a result of Hurricane Rita making landfall September 24, 2005. Damage included he Waterworks District #7 office building, a storage shed, and the contents to both buildings. Cameron Parish Waterworks District #7 determined that replacement of the facility in its current location would not best meet the needs of the community. The proposed storage pavilion will be located approximately 750 feet southwest of the former office location and within the original site of the former storage shed. In accordance with 44 Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) for FEMA, Subpart B – Agency Implementing Procedures, Section 10.9, an Environmental Assessment (EA) was prepared pursuant to Section 102 of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969, as implemented by the regulations promulgated by the President’s Council on Environmental Quality (40 CFR Parts 1500-1508).
