Environmental Assessment for St. Martin High School, Ocean Springs, Jackson Co., MS
FEMA, through its Public Assistance program, is proposing to assist in the funding of a flood mitigation project to construct a new St. Martin High School to replace the St. Martin Attendance Center which was composed of the St. Martin Upper Elementary School and the St. Martin Middle School in Jackson County, Mississippi. The Attendance Center was damaged by storm surge associated with Hurricane Katrina. In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969, National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), Executive Orders on Floodplains and Wetlands, and FEMA’s implementing regulations, an Environmental Assessment was prepared to assess the potential impacts of the action on the human and natural environment.
