Getting the Most from Hazus - MH Excellence doesn’t happen overnight, but FEMA’s training courses will equip you with tools to deliver a knowledgeable plan of action back to your community. FEMA’s Emergency Management Institute (EMI) in Emmitsburg, MD offers 3 ˝ day classroom style training for Hazus-MH. Enrollment for Hazus courses at EMI is free for federal, state, and local community officials. Complimentary housing considerations can be made for state and local community officials. Contact your State Training Officer to see if you qualify. Course participants are responsible for the cost of meals at approx. $60/week. Courses provide hands-on training Hazus-MH tools, methodologies, and audience-specific applications (e.g., Flood Plain Managers).
