Louisiana Recovery Office New Orleans, LA FEMA: Week in Review July 20, 2012 Announcements Port of St. Bernard Associated Terminals Office Ribbon Cutting Ceremony On July 10, St. Bernard Parish officials, port commissioners, owner/director of Associated Terminals and others gathered for the ribbon cutting event at the Port of St. Bernard Associated Terminals new office building located at 8000 St. Bernard Highway in Arabi. The St. Bernard Port Harbor and Terminal District is a full-service marine terminal and inter-modal facility and Associated Terminals is the exclusive operator of the port's marine facilities. The Associated Terminals office/warehouse facility consists of a 160-foot by 350-foot warehouse in the rear and a two-story, 10,000-square-foot office building attached in the front. The facility sustained flood and wind damages from Hurricane Katrina and both the warehouse and the office building were eligible for repairs. FEMA has obligated $3.1 million in Hurricane Katrina-related funds for this Improved Project. Overall FEMA has obligated a total of $21.8 million for the Port of St. Bernard for both hurricanes Katrina and Gustav. The modern and innovative architectural design of the building is worth noting. It reflects St. Bernard Port’s theme of “Think Positive St. Bernard” and is indicative of their commitment to post Katrina growth.
