St.BernardParish’sPublic SchoolSystemEntersFinalLegofRecovery TheFederalEmergencyManagementAgencyannouncedonMay1,a $148.3millionconsolidatedgranttotheSt.BernardParishSchoolBoard, largelysupportingtheimplementationof theirpost-Katrina,overallrecoveryplan. Theschoolsystem’snewlayoutisbuilt uponthedeterminationthatrebuildingall damagedfacilitiesattheiroriginalloca­tionswasnotinthebestinterestofthe community’spost-Katrinaneeds.In­stead,thesamefunctionsandcapacities thatexistedpre-Katrinawererestoredin adifferentconfiguration.
