For the past several years the Mississippi Recovery Office has participated in the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Donation Program.

This holiday season the MSRO collected an overflowing pallet of various toys, bicycles and helmets for local area children.

MSRO Director Dennis Kizziah looks forward to this drive each year.  “Once we place the donation box in the office, there is an exciting race to see how fast we can fill it.  We have a spirited debate in the office on which toys are the most popular this year.”

Marine Corps personnel arrived to collect the donations on December 13th and left with a van packed full of new toys to deliver to children in Harrison County.

Founded in 1947, the primary goal of the Toys for Tots program is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive patriotic citizens.
