FEMA and the entire emergency management community are called to be our best during times of national crisis; and the past three decades presented challenges and conditions that necessitate continuous reevaluation of how we deliver emergency management services. To address those challenges, FEMA’s senior leadership relies on a data-based management process called FEMASTAT. This process involves a series of frequent, integrated meetings during which principal members of the FEMA leadership team use current data to analyze performance and identify solutions for ongoing problems. In addition to this work, the FEMASTAT team is coordinating the Go Smart initiative, a plan to expand the agency’s capacity to turn data into information, information into knowledge, and knowledge into wise decision-making. FEMASTAT, part of the Office of Policy and Program Analysis, is seeking individuals for four to six month rotational assignments with the FEMASTAT team. Anyone who is interested in a rotation which begins on or before March 1, 2014, should apply by Friday, Nov. 8, 2013.
