  • FEMA SRO Will Set the Standard for Long-Term Recovery.  Disaster recovery operations in the two states most heavily impacted by Hurricane Sandy took a major step forward on January 15, 2014 when the Joint Field Offices in New York and New Jersey transitioned to the Sandy Recovery Office.  >> Read more.

  • Surge Capacity Force Seeking Ancillary Support. The Incident Workforce Management Division (IWMD) is seeking personnel to serve as Surge Capacity Force (SCF) Specialists, who will deploy in support of disaster operations (National Mobilization Centers, JFOs, and component DHS Agencies) as on-site points of contact during an activation of the SCF. >> Read more.

Events and Opportunities

  • SAVE THE DATE!! Please join us Wednesday February 5 from 3:00pm-4:00pm for the 2013 Administrator’s Awards Ceremony. The Awards recognize employees from across FEMA who have gone above and beyond their daily work in support of the FEMA mission. Their accomplishments represent exceptional and unique work in one of three areas: Exemplary Emergency Manager, Outstanding Survivor Service, and Innovation. The ceremony will be in the NRCC with VTC connections to the regions.  It will also be streamed online.

  • A Great Opportunity for FEMA Employees – the DHS Mentoring Program - Through collaborative efforts, FEMA’s Employee Development Division, headed by Dr. Cheryl Seminara, has been working with DHS Headquarters to expand their Mentoring Program to include FEMA employees. To date, 47 FEMA employees have been accepted into the program – nearly half of DHS’s existing program.  >> Read more.

  • Rotational Assignment Opportunities: Rotational Assignments are great ways to build proficiency in technical and leader competencies, while learning about other organizations.  To learn more about rotations, visit the Internal Rotations Program Page  or email edu@fema.dhs.gov.  Employees can apply for rotations and supervisors can post rotational assignment opportunities directly on that site.
