Welcome to FEMA’s Arkansas Disaster Resource Portal.
This portal provides essential disaster information from FEMA and the state of Arkansas to the public, government officials, the media and other information-seekers. On this page, you can access all the features of the FEMA Web site at www.fema.gov, as well as a wealth of information designed to assist individual Arkansanians, local municipalities, nonprofit groups and other entities that are receiving federal assistance under a presidential disaster declaration.
To access data specific to a certain disaster, click the appropriate button above. Once on your page, you will find the latest news releases from FEMA and the state on the response and/or recovery effort, as well as a message from FEMA’s federal coordinating officer for the disaster.
Click the Recovery Statistics link to view a full breakdown by individual county of the number and grant amounts obligated under FEMA’s Public Assistance (PA) program. These grants go to state and local governments and certain nonprofit agencies for repairs to public buildings, roads, bridges and other infrastructure, for emergency measures taken to protect lives and property, and for clearing eligible debris from public roads and facilities.
The About the Disaster button takes you to a page that recounts the events that led up to the specific presidential disaster declaration. The How FEMA Helps link offers vital information on the objectives of the PA program. It also connects to other pages that provide detailed explanations of such things as the application process, debris management, roles and responsibilities, and resources and tools.
News releases relating to federally declared Louisiana disasters can be accessed via the Press Releases link. Other links provide information on applying for assistance; rebuilding safer, stronger homes and communities; and other important resources for disaster survivors and affected communities.
If you have any questions concerning this Web site or would like additional information about FEMA’s role in any Arkansas disaster, please call the FEMA Region VI office in Denton, Texas, at 940-898-5104.
