Doing Business With FEMA: Contractor Workshops

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Management Directorate, Acquisition Management Division (AMD) offers a series of workshops designed to prepare local small businesses for participation in the federal acquisition process; seminars will be strategically located throughout the disaster area. These workshops are free and open to the public; pre-registration is encouraged; attendance does not guarantee a contract award. 

Bid and Proposal Preparation Workshop

Participants will learn how to:

• Respond to Requests for Proposal (RFP) and Requests for Quotation (RFQ).
• Utilize available local resources.
• Develop a strong proposal.
• Register with Dun & Bradstreet for a contractor DUNS number.
• Register with Central Contractor Registration.

Introduction to Federal Contracting Workshop

Participants will learn how to:

• Get on the General Services Administration (GSA) schedule.
• Interface with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to obtain small-business certifications.
• Successfully navigate Web sites that contain contracting opportunities for recovery efforts.

• Register with Dun & Bradstreet for a contractor DUNS number.
• Register with Central Contractor Registration.
