Gulf Coast roads, bridges, ports, water systems, electrical utilities, and other critical infrastructure were severely impacted by hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Rebuilding these assets is essential to the recovery of all sectors and revitalization of the Gulf Coast economy.
The repair of essential public works and transportation systems serves as a catalyst for economic renewal and essential measure for long term recovery. FEMA is committed to the rebuilding of Gulf Coast public infrastructure.
