Gulf Coast Recovery Financial Management Team Receives DHS Achievement Award for 2007

The Federal Emergency Management Agency's Gulf Coast Recovery Office (GCRO) Financial Management Team recently received the Department of Homeland Security Chief Financial Officer Superior Mission Achievement: Budget, Planning & Evaluation Award.  On Wednesday, April 23rd Joe Garcia, Chief Financial Officer for the GCRO accepted the award on behalf of the entire team at a ceremony in Washington, DC. 

Under the leadership of Mr. Garcia, the GCRO Financial Management Team was recognized for their enhanced accountability of and transparency into the Gulf Coast Recovery Transitional Recovery Offices budget that resulted in over fifty percent reduction in costs.

Their dedication, positive attitude and ability to operate under tight time constraints demonstrate what can be accomplished when employees work together toward a common goal.
