Purpose: NSGP provides funding support for target hardening activities to nonprofit organizations that are at high risk of a terrorist attack and located within one of the specific FY 2011 UASI-eligible urban areas.
Eligible Applicants: The SAA was the only entity eligible to apply to FEMA for NSGP funds. Eligible nonprofit organizations (as described under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 and exempt from tax under section 501(a) of such Code) that are at high risk of a terrorist attack and are located within one of the specific FY 2011 UASI-eligible urban areas are eligible for funding through their SAA. The SAA was the only entity eligible to apply to FEMA for NSGP funds. Program Awards: FY 2011 NSGP funds were allocated based on risk analysis, effectiveness, and integration with broader state and local preparedness efforts. Each nonprofit organization was able to apply through their SAA for up to a $75,000 grant award.
